This recipe came from an old cookbook I have.
I love old cookbooks.
They were printed "back in the day" when healthy food was unheard of;0)
Base:
1/2 cup butter flavor all vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
2/3 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c milk
For base, combine shortening, brown sugar, and 2/3 cup peanut butter. Beat until well blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Combine flour and salt. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture at low speed. Beat until well blended. Spread in greased 9x13 pan.
Streusel Topping
3 tblsp. butter flavored shortening
1/3 c all purpose flour
1/3 c firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tblsp peanut butter
1/4 c. chopped pecans
For topping: combine shortening, flour, brown sugar, and peanut butter. Mix until well blended. Sprinkle over unbaked base.
Sprinkle nuts over top.
Bake at 350 for 30 to 33 minutes or until golden brown.
