Project 52 Week 13 {Blue} and Week 14 {Radiate}...

Well, I'm late in posting these...again!  Sometimes more important deadlines and life in general get in the way of posting my photo a week.  While I was looking back to see what week I was on, I realized I don't have a picture for week 12.  Oh well!

The theme for week 13 was "blue."  I couldn't figure out what I could take a picture of that could fall under the blue category.  I was thinking blue sky with white puffy clouds, but Mother Nature didn't cooperate that week.  Then I thought about taking a selfie because of said weather, I was feeling a little "blue" myself, but then one day this happened.  This little miracle...
She never falls asleep on her own except in her own bed.  She must have been extremely tired from such a busy morning.  Or wait...it was from keeping Mom and Dad awake all.night.long.  I blame the teeth even though I really don't know if she was teething!

The theme for week 14, last week, was "radiate."  Jo is always on the move and I have found that she is a lover of the great outdoors.  She could spend hours out there just wandering around exploring.  Her smile is "radiant" when she is outside!

Now on to week 15 in the hopes that I can snap a pic and get it posted before next week!  And maybe one of my other two daughters can be in a pic for once!

Project 52 Week 10 {soft} and Week 11 {patterns}

The theme for week 10 was soft.  Mel was feeling a little under the weather one day last week and I captured this photo of her passed out on the couch with our favorite blanket.
It's a blanket that we were given by our feed salesman.  Actually, he gave a few to my dad and my dad gave it to us.  It has a Holstein calf on it as well as the brand of a calf milk replacer.  It is so soft and is a family favorite.  We might be known to fight over it!

This week's theme is patterns.  Jo's outfit on this day was full of patterns...

Project 52 Week 8 {bright} and Week 9 {color blind}...

So I didn't get last week's picture posted.  Surprise, surprise.  I'm sure it won't be the last time that will happen;)

The theme for week 8 was "Bright."  I tried so hard to get a decent picture of a flower in my Valentine's bouquet,  but they just weren't turning out quite right.  I gave up and walked in the kitchen and saw these paper straws setting on the counter and finally a light bulb went off!  Brightness...
The theme for this week is "color blind."  This is a tough one.  I could have converted any old picture in black and white, but these are the ones that I chose...

Sometimes I wish we could all live more like a child.  So much innocence and love!

Project 52 Week 7 {focus}...

The only thing that keeps this girl focused for more than .5128 seconds these days is a You Tube video of the Peterson Farm Brothers.

Project 52 Week 6 {Paradise}...

The theme for this week is paradise.  Most people might consider paradise to be the beach, the big city, or even enjoying a cool beverage pool side in 85 degree weather.  This is my kind of paradise...
Nothing but corn fields for miles and back roads to take you wherever you want to go!

Project 52 Week 4 {Joy}...

It was finally warm enough on Monday for this little girl to play in the snow for a few minutes.  Joy...

Project 52 Week 3 {inside}...

For starters, I'm a day late posting this as we are now on week four.  This wasn't the picture I took for the week's theme, but Photoshop, for some reason, decided it didn't want to download the picture I did take.  So, this one will have to do.  We've had a lot of snow, but it's been too cold for Jo to go out and play in it so we brought the snow inside.

Project 52 Week 2 {Imperfection}...

The theme this week for Project 52 was an easy one, I thought.  My life is full of imperfections.  Living a perfect life would be pretty boring...and stressful!  One of the things I am far from perfect in is house work.  I can work from sun up to sun down (and most days I do!) trying to keep up with all the fiasco in my house, but it is exhausting.  When my kids grow up I want them to remember that I was present in their lives and that I took them outside to play in the snow, or baked cookies with them, whatever!  I don't want them to remember me always with a mop in my hand to busy cleaning because really, the day will come when they will all be out of the house (hopefully) and I will have all the time in the world to clean (hopefully.)

So the photo I chose for this week is below.  In it you will see toys strung all over the living room floor.  We have a toy room right off our living room, but the toys still manage to make it to the living room.  The floor is also blotched with stains.  Stains that I don't know where they come from.  We just had the carpet cleaned in December.  When I snapped this photo, it was a few minutes before noon and 2 of my 3 kids were still in their PJs with hair that had not yet been brushed.  The oldest is playing a game on the Wii and had been most of the morning.  The middle is sitting on the couch pouting about something!  The youngest is whining because she wants a piece of candy that her sisters have hidden from her..or maybe she just wanted to watch a movie because yes, I do let her watch movies.  Sometimes it's the only thing that will give me 5 minutes to switch laundry or go to the bathroom!  I would say we live a perfectly imperfect life!

Project 52 Week 1 {Reflections}...

Four years ago (I can't believe it has been that long!) I participated in Project 365.  One photo every day for one year.  I am proud to say I actually did it!  I pulled out my camera every single day for one year and took at least one picture.  Sometimes I didn't get them posted on time, but I did manage to take a picture every day.  It was a huge commitment.  Some days I had very little motivation, but I still got it done!  I still love photography, but feel I don't have the time for it or something always takes priority over it.  I realized yesterday how much I missed it and decided I wanted to participate, yet again, in something like Project 365.  So, I decided to join My Four Hens Photography for their Project 52.  It's one photo a week ,which seems so much more manageable than a photo a day.  You are given a theme each week ,but you don't have to use the theme you are given.  The idea is to watch your photography skills advance in a year...hopefully...and to have fun!

The theme for this week is Reflections and while I can now think of a million things that I could have taken a picture of, this is what came to my mind first...

I hope you enjoy following along on this "project" with me for the next year.  At least I will have something to post once a week!!:)

Project 52:Week 5...

I didn't take a photo for week 4.  I know.  Shame on me.  Sometimes life just gets in the way.

Project 52...Week 2...

I love this picture.  I love the little girl in it.  I love that she has drool on her bottom lip.  I love that she's smiling even though she has a rainbow afro on her head.  I love that I captured her eyes.  This picture makes me smile!

Project 52: Week 1...

A couple years ago, I participated in Project 365.  I enjoyed it.  It forced me to get my camera out and practice my photography skills every.single.day, but it was a huge commitment!  In the same sense, it was a HUGE accomplishment once I finally reached day 365. I thought about doing a picture a day on Instagram however, I have recently noticed that I don't get the "big camera" out as much as I used to.  I guess it's more convenient to just whip out the IPhone and snap a picture because I always have it with me.  Plus, I take like four pictures a day on Instagram so that wouldn't be much of a challenge.  I'm a little busier than I was 2 years ago because we are plus one child, so I decided that I could take a picture a week for one year.  52 pictures.  That's not bad.  I can handle that and it will still force me to drag out the "big camera" and focus on my photography!

So here are the photos for week #1.  As always, I couldn't pick just one that was my favorite, so here are three photos from week 1...

I hope that you enjoy following along with me and maybe some of you will decide to participate with me.  Happy Friday everyone!!
