Growing season...

This time of year my sun room turns into a greenhouse. I start my broccoli, tomatoes, and some flowers by seed....
Tomatoes....I know these tomatoes look funny, but right before I took this picture, I pinched the top leaves off. I read in a magazine that that makes stronger, bushier plants.
Marigolds...

Brad, with the help of B, tilled the garden on Sunday. So far I have planted radishes, potatoes, and broccoli...

B picks dandelions all the time. She gives them to me and makes me put them in water. Don't you love the sunglasses??!! She has blue eyes, like me, but that makes her eyes very sensitive to sunlight. Most of the time B and I are never without our shades!! Gotta protect those eyes!!

And finally, Mel...who also has blue eyes. I'm sure she'll need a pair of sunglasses someday also, but right now, a hat works just fine!!

Taylor...

Just a few pictures of my adorable niece....
A favorite of mine...

Another personal favorite....

I couldn't resist posting this picture!! This photo is so real to me!:0) Mom and Dad just wanted a few posed shots. Taylor, being the typical 18 month old, just wanted to run around!! When they are this age, you just have to let them do their own thing and take a TON of "snapshots"!!!

A little side note....I go to the Dr. today for a checkup of my elbow. I am still unable to straighten it all they way, so I am hoping that I don't have to do physical therapy because things are very busy right now and will probably stay that way until fall!! Last time I went they gave me some exercises to do at home and I have been doing them religiously, so I am hoping they will give me additional ones, so I don't have to make a trip to Indy twice a month!! I thought I could live with not being able to straighten my arm, but it is actually a pain in the rear!!:0( Wish me luck!! Have a great day!!

fashion trend...

Last Friday I took my niece's picture at a park. I knew that I couldn't take B to the park with me because she would just run around while I was trying to take pictures. All of my babysitters already had prior commitments, so I called my wonderful sister-in-law (who is very pregnant with twins) and asked her if she would watch Mel. She said she would, but that she would just rather watch her at the park that way I am there in case she needs me. (for those of you who don't know mel very well, she is crawling and is into EVERYTHING...she keeps you on your toes!!) I was supposed to drop B off at the farm, with Brad, on my way to the park. I had to wake her up from her nap, so she was a total grouch...like her mommy. Her clothes were so filthy from playing outside all morning. I put her boots on that were also filthy with what I would like to say was just mud, but I would be lying on that one:0)!! I didn't care...she was going to the farm and would just get dirtier. Well, we get to the farm and I get her out of the car, hand her over to Brad and she throws this huge fit and didn't want to stay with him. This NEVER happens. She always wants to be with him!! So we put her back in the car, went to pick up my sister-in-law, and headed to the park. I was so worried that she would run everywhere and my sister-in-law wouldn't be able to keep up...it would send her into labor...etc. But B was very good and stayed with me. It was actually a good thing she went because she can always get my niece to crack a smile. Not only did she go to the park dressed like this...we also went to a restaurant!! We went home, got Brad, and ate at Stagg's!! Oh well...I don't think anyone really cared!
She went down this huge curly slide...all by herself!!
Oh...and by the way...by the end of the session, I was glad she wore her boots. There were some really muddy areas!!

sunny days...

We had some beautiful weather last week and we spent a lot of time outside. B can't stand grass growing in the sandbox, so she pulls it...like mother like daughter!:)...

Mel LOVED swinging. I think she could have stayed there all day long!!

And this little girl could have done this all day long....

a "sand ball"...

Melaney even likes sitting in the grass....

Riding in the backhoe with Papaw Tom...

I took this picture from inside the kitchen. The quality of it isn't that great, but it was too cute to resist. I was in the house making supper and I saw these two practicing letters with sticks...at least I thought it was cute...

the love of learning...

B got two "learning books" for Christmas. We have been trying to do a few pages every week or so. She really likes it!!

We finally finished they age 3-5 book. On the last page was a Certificate that you put the child's name on. B is so proud of herself...

Now on to the preschool book. It is a little harder. Here she is practicing writing the letter "a". I only wanted to do one letter a day so she wouldn't get confused, but when we finished "a" she insisted on practicing the letter "b". She kept wanting to write an "a" instead of "b".

Not bad...I helped her on the first two. The last three were on her own!!:)

Couldn't post without a picture of Mel...

neat idea & birthday wish....

I had some ice cube trays taking up space in the cabinets so I decided it was a cheap and simple way to keep b's hair accessories organized. They fit perfectly in the drawers of the bathroom vanity....
I ran across these adorable crocs on another blog. My birthday is coming up. I wear an 8-9 in crocs if anyone needs a gift idea!!!:0)

teething??.........

I think Mel may be teething. She is chewing on the handle of the TV cabinet. B did the same thing whenever she was teething.

Easter...

The girls in their pretty dresses. I love B's grin....
The Easter bunny brought Pinnochio. B wanted to call him this morning and tell him thank you!
