Fun in the Sand...

Mel finally decided she wanted to play in the sandbox. All summer she has been perfectly content sitting outside the sandbox and playing in the sand. Yesterday she wanted in...

She got pretty dirty....but that doesn't matter........she had fun!!!

Visiting...

We spent the other evening at my grandparent's house. My aunt and uncle were visiting from North Carolina.
My grandma got B this awesome paint and color set...

And B had to catch lightning bugs...Again!! This time, instead of putting them in a jar, she put them in her pocket! I'm glad I caught her before she got in the car with them in there. We would have had lightning bugs everywhere!!

Brad and I got to watch this trio the other night!! It was kind of a practice run because we are going to watch them for a whole week in January while their parents are on a mission trip.

An Ice pop...

Another show B watches is called "Sid the Science Kid." (Also on PBS Kids) Every day he learns something new about science. Yesterday he learned how things freeze and then melt. He made an ice pop on the show, so B wanted to make one also.
Here she is five minutes after we put the ice pop in the freezer to see if it was ready.

She finally got to eat it this morning with her breakfast(we made it out of OJ).

Super Readers to the Rescue...

There is this show on PBS called "Super Readers" and B watches it just about every morning. The other night she wanted to be a "Super Reader". She even went to our neighbors dressed like this.

It was finally warm enough on Monday to go swimming. She had to go without her swimsuit because it was in Mel's room and she was napping. She didn't seem to mind!

Family weekend...

This past weekend my husband's family was in town. I just wanted to share some pictures that I took while they were here.
Two of my MIL's sisters. She is one of six girls.

B's new toy. We have been wanting to get her one for awhile, but were waiting for them to go on sale. They went on sale last week. She loves it because she can ride it anywhere.

By the end of the weekend, we had three jars filled with lightning bugs!

On Friday night we had a hog roast and band.

Mel and B enjoyed dancing to the music. I love the bond that these two already share!

This little boy was cracking me up. Quite the little dancer. He is so full of energy and a chatter bug. Love it!!! Such a fun age.

This poor little girl made her first trip to the ER Saturday night. She hadn't been herself for a few days, and had a cold for about two weeks. She was throwing a lot of fits(hubby and I thought it was her red-headed temper coming out...I can say that bc I am a red-head). She took a six hour nap on Saturday and when she woke up she couldn't catch her breath and was having a hard time crying. She had an ear infection, upper respiratory infection, and had developed a rash so the dr. said she also had a viral infection. Yuck!! (Guess that is what I get for going to the germ infested Children's Museum). I never would have guessed she had an ear infection because she had been sleeping all night. B never slept when she had one. So, she is on an antibiotic for 10 days, and I can already tell a difference.

It was nice to see all of you guys! Hope you enjoyed your stay and had a safe trip home!!
