Craft Time...

A couple weeks ago the girls made dinosaurs.
I got the idea from here.

You will need paint,
4 popsicle sticks with one of them cut in half,

and several toothpicks.

Have your child dip their thumb in the paint color of their choice and press in onto the paper to make the dinosaur head.
Then have them do the same with their pointer finger to make the dinosaur nose, or snout...whatever it is called. I'm sure their is technical term, but I don't know it so for this purpose, we will refer to it as the nose...

Then glue the popsicle sticks onto the paper.
Use the shorter sticks for the neck and tail. Use the longer sticks for the stomach and the legs...

Next up are the bones, or toothpicks.
Glue them beneath the popsicle sticks...

Then let your child go crazy with the paint.
B chose to make a sunset...

Mel's was abstract as usual;0)...

B wanted a blue dinosaur...

And this is why Mel gets stuck with boring old watercolor most of the time;0)...

Ta Da....

Ta Da...

Have fun being creative!!

  3. oh my gosh your girls are adorable! Especially the little one with the pig tails!

Adam uses tempera paint, but I only give him 3 colors at a time and he has a separate paint brush for each one. We have NOT had luck with watercolor.
