One of the best parts about pouring concrete is that you can "brand it" anyway you please.
Your "brand" will be there for years. There is a slab of concrete in front of the field beside our house. I don't know what the purpose of it is-probably a boundary marker or something, but it has two sets of hand prints on it. No names, just hand prints. I have asked Brad who they belong to, but he doesn't know.
So, when the final pour for the new shop was complete the girls got to sink their boots into the freshly poured concrete and "brand" it.
B was first up. Dad's help was required because one slip up could ruin the job...
Mel was second (shirts are always optional at our house...if you are under 6)Adding a few more details...
Now everyone will know who those footprints belong too unlike the mysterious hand prints by the field...
Although 100 years from now, people will probably wonder who the heck B and Mel are!
Happy Wednesday friends!!!

I love it!! In a couple of years the girls won't believe their feet were ever that small!!
ReplyDeleteWe have 4 little handprints and 1 footprint (Adam was too little to keep his hand "spread") in our driveway. Always good to make your mark in history!
ReplyDeleteawesome!
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo sweet and what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! My parents put 86 cents in the shape of 86 into the concrete of our back door step when they put on an addition in 1986. Good idea but the coins didn't stick and came up after several years! Oops! I think your idea is more permanent.
ReplyDeleteThat came out so cute! We tried to do hand-prints when mine were little that didn't work out too well ~ I like the way you captured the whole story with your camera!

Awesome - we put hand prints or footprints in all the concrete we poor! We have a chunk of concrete out of our barn that has Chris' Dad's handprint from when he was a kid!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics - your girls are dolls!
Aw, how cute! I've always wanted to do that. :)
