Today was B's first day of Kindergarten.
Where has the time gone. The past 5 1/2 years have flown by. There were several times in the past where I could not wait for her to go to school. Today I wish I could have kept her home. But that's life and away she went.
Before I let her go she had to pose for the first day of school photo(s).
Love this pic!...
She was exaggerating is this pic. ..
Her backpack was stuffed to the gill with all of her school supplies!
Walking down the driveway to wait for the bus...
She said, "I cannot wait for the bus to get her so I can see how cool it is!"
Ha! In 10 years she will be so tired of riding that bus and will be begging me to take her or let her drive!
Our school system has the kindergartners start school the day before everyone else so they are the only kids on the bus and in the schools. She stays home tomorrow (all the other kiddos first day) then goes back on Thursday with everyone else. It gives worry wart mommas like myself some peace of mind (and I get to spend ALL day with her tomorrow!!).
I met her at the end of the driveway when she got off the bus. She greeted me with a hug and said, "I've been good!"
I asked her what her favorite part of her day was and she said, "Sleeping." No, she didn't fall asleep in class!;0) They have to lie down after lunch!
That's my favorite part of the day too!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the Tuesday Train!
So sweet. At least she gets a little rest time after lunch!
ReplyDeleteShe's so cute. Love her pink crocs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! :) Glad she liked sleeping ;)
ReplyDeleteAwesome - kids just love the first day of kindergarten and it is so hard on Moms!
ReplyDeleteSounds like she did great! So grown up! Like I told Jamalyn, don't blink! Enjoy your day together, and hope tomorrow is another great one for B!
ReplyDeleteI remember my daughter's first day of kindergarten. I was a mess! And I of course was equally as sad when I sent my boys off to school. I took pics of their first days and have continued to do it every year. My daughter is now a junior. :( Enjoy every second of these years! They go by fast!
ReplyDeleteAwwww.. Adorable Pics :)

That first day is bittersweet, isn't it? It's like those 5 years just flash before your eyes and they get on that bus and ride away. I'm sure she will love school and you'll have some time with Mel. Hugs to you - I know those days are happy AND hard. :)
ReplyDeleteAww! She's such a cutie! I can't imagine letting my little guy ride on the bus to his first day of K! We've got one more year to worry about that one though, thank goodness.
