Baling Straw...

Okay so these pictures are over a month old.  I kind of  forgot about them.

The combine harvests the wheat and separates the grain from the stalk.  Wheat is normally harvested around here  the first part of July.
What is left of the stalk is baled and used as bedding for our cows.
We didn't plant any wheat this year, but one of Brad's good friends has a baling business and found him a whole mess of straw to get us through the year.
Mel likes to pretend she is driving...

 Loading the bales...

Strapping the bales down on the trailer....
All loaded and ready to hit the road...

Some people plant beans right after the wheat has been harvested.
They refer to this as double cropping which is raising two consecutive crops off a single piece of land in one year.
