I posted on Facebook this morning, as I was baking 3 apple pies, trying to make lunch, and mopping my floors all in between Jo's little catnaps, that I wish I had time to blog. A sweet friend left a comment that was like a breath of fresh air that I so desperately needed at that moment. She said, "You have more important things to do. It's just a season." That it is and I am trying desperately to soak up every moment of it. While she is napping, I am trying to keep a clean house, do laundry, help with homework, play with Mel, and cook. Now, I'm grateful that all of you understand my lack of blogging. Having three kids, including a newborn doesn't allow much time for the computer. I'm thankful for my IPhone so that I can catch up with the outside world via Facebook while I am feeding Jo.
On the bright side of things, Harvest 2012 is now in the books! We finished on Monday. What a relief it is to have that over with! It was definitely a tough year because of the drought and also having a baby in the midst of it. All of a sudden I went from being a mom of two fairly independent girls(ages 6 and 4) to a single mother(because of harvest) of 3...including a newborn. I was thrown into the act of balancing three kiddos while trying to recover from labor. There were times when I felt like stretch armstrong and that I was being pulled in 68 different directions. Jo would cry for 3 hours straight in the evening, while B had homework, and Mel needed attention herself. So, to say that I am happy to have harvest over with would be a huge understatement. I'm glad to have my husband back and while we have a great event to remember from October of 2012, it is nice to have one of the worst crop years behind us!
So, as I juggle everything right now, please bear with me. I have a lot to blog about, but little time! Have a great weekend everyone!
you are amazing to keep it all going...there will be time for blogging...you are doing more important things now...
ReplyDeleteSometimes I direct everyone to my Facebook page or Instagram to keep up with the latest and greatest. It's so much more convenient for quick updates! I also have to e-mail myself pics from Instagram to then upload to my blog's FB page. Still can't quite make that connection without the laptop to bridge the gap. Hang in there and so looking forward to seeing you next week!
ReplyDeleteHave you heard the poem about 'Cleaning and scrubbing can wait 'til tomorrow, 'cause babies grow up, we've learned to our sorrow'? We should change it to 'cleaning and blogging.' :) And you know the last line: 'I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep.' Believe me, it's true. Enjoy the moments (even the screaming) and don't fret about cleaning and blogging. :)
