The Marshmallow Tree...

Earlier this spring I was pushing Mel on the swings when she said, "Look Mommy!  A marshmallow tree."
When you look at the photo, you will see a flowering pear tree.
But to a three year old it's a marshmallow tree!

I could have corrected her and told her there is no such thing as a marshmallow tree then explained to her that it was a flowering pear tree, but that would have taken the fun out of it!

I feel imagination is one of the greatest things, so why ruin it?

So, until she figures it out for herself, we have a marshmallow tree growing in the backyard!

  1. I agree, we should encourage our children's imaginations, I don't have the heart to squander my sons either...it is just funner to go with it!
I can't wait until our marshmallow tree (apple tree) starts blooming in our backyard, they are so beautiful and a sure sign that summer is just around the corner!

  7. That is too cute! We have a flowering pear tree at our new house. I think we might just have to start calling it a marshmallow tree from now on! I love the things kids come up with!
