The Manicurist...

Our house is a little crazy and unorganized today.
We are having foam insulation sprayed in our attic.

I posted this on Facebook yesterday...."We are having our attic insulated tomorrow so everything in the attic has to be moved into B's room.  Poor B!  And poor me as I will be doing some much needed sorting and pitching/donating."

I was going to take a picture of B's room and post it on here, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.  Every time I go up there I think I might have a panic attack.  Those of you that know me know that I hate clutter!!!!

Brad just took the girls out to the shop so I am in here watching Dr. Phil and blogging.

Mel has really taken in interest in hair, nails, and makeup.
She reminds me so much of myself at this age.  I loved (and still do) doing hair, applying makeup, and painting my fingernails.  I have always dreamed of becoming a hair stylist....maybe someday.?

Mel and I went to Kohl's one day and she found a package of 5 very bright nail polishes.  They were on sale for a whopping $2...I think.  I have a hard time saying no when she asks for something because she never asks.  When she sees something she likes she says, "I want that for Christmas."  So for right now, no temper tantrums are thrown if she doesn't get what she wants while shopping and I buy her the occasional "treat".

B was/is a totally different story, but that is a story for another day.

The bottles are small enough and the nail polish doesn't show up very well, so I let her paint her nails herself.

The other night she set up a beauty shop of her own.
I was first and thank goodness no photos were taken.
She painted my finger nails first then my toes which meant I had to lay on the hardwood floor in a very uncomfortable position.  My feet kept cramping up and every time I would move them she would say, "Mommy, stop moving!"

Next up was B....

She was a very patient client.
At one point B said, "Mom, it doesn't show up very well."
I told her to hush and just let Mel have fun.

Luckily the attention span of a 3 year old is very short because Brad was next in line.
He lucked out.  Once she found the astronaut she was done!

  3. What an adorable scrunched up face picture! Love it, and you are a braver woman (more brave??? I'm having an English teacher brain fart) than I am with the nail polish. You are such a good mom!
