Family Pictures 2011...

I meant to post these a few weeks ago after I knew that everyone had received their Christmas cards so I wouldn't ruin any surprises, but time got away from me as usual.

I stress about having family pictures taken.
I worry about it so much that Brad has threatened to divorce me every year.
Not really, but he will be the first to admit that he dreads Family Picture Day.

Brad's wonderful sister started buying the girls' Christmas outfits a few years ago.
She decks the girls out from head to toe in complete cuteness and style.
Then I try to find something for Brad and I that coordinates with the girls' outfits.  Insert stress!

I am a photographer which means I prefer to be behind the camera not in front of it.  Insert stress!

The girls always choose to act up during Family Picture Time which makes for about 50 pictures of me with a horrific double chin and my mouth open because I am telling them to behave.  Insert stress!

I try to find a unique and neat backdrop setting.  Insert stress!

This year I vowed to not stress and, I have to say, I think I did a pretty darn good job at it!

I didn't stress about outfits or the location.  Brad actually picked the spot and I think it is my favorite thus far!

The girls actually cooperated which resulted in zero pictures with my mouth open and a small amount with the double chin.

Here are my faves...

This is the one that we picked for the Christmas card which you can see here...
I actually like how I look in the one below better, but it looks like B isn't a part of the family.
Unfortunately, it's not all about me so I compromised!...
Her tights were a little "itchy" so we have several with her leg in the air...

We had to take a couple with our Carhartts on....another Brad idea...
My girls and me ♥...

  1. VERY GOOD!
I bought a remote control for my camera so that no one else was around to witness me yelling and beating Chris and the kids on "Family Picture Day"!

  2. LOL... we are so alike! I have a hard time just keeping the boys Clean long enough to get a decent shot of them not arguing! Maybe next year I'll have to throw in the towel and take one in their dirt pile with a dump truck! :) Love the cattle in the background, nice job, Brad ;)
