Goodbye Kindergarten....

Don't forget there's still time to enter my giveaway.  It ends at midnight tonight!  All you have to do is leave a comment with your email address to be entered to win two bracelets!!!

Friday was the last day of school and the last day of Kindergarten for B.
She loved Kindergarten and I owe her teachers a huge thanks for making her (and my) transition to the real school so easy.

Every day she woke up excited to bring on the new day.  I can't believe how much she learned in the first year.  She is also quite the chatter bug so I was surprised when the teachers complimented her on how well behaved she was.

They had a bee hive in the classroom and each student had a bee in the hive.  If the students misbehaved, they had to move their bee out of the hive.  B brought her bee home on Friday and was happy to report that she "never moved her bee."

Thursday was the awards program and she got the "Excellent Attendance Award" for only missing a day and a half of school as well as the "AR award" for all four semesters!!!  AR stands for accelerated reading.  In Kindergarten they are required to complete nine Reader's Rules each nine weeks.  They have to read a story and draw a picture from their favorite part of the book.  She loves to draw so these were easy to complete.
I'll admit, I cried when she got on the bus on the first day of school and the last day of school.  I don't handle the fact well that my kids are growing up.

Mel couldn't wait for her sister to get home. (Sorry for the crazy hair.  B was outside at school all day and Mel's is a result of a restless nap time waiting from B to get home.)

So for now we will enjoy our summer and I will try to forget the fact that she is growing up.

  1. I LOVE the pics of B heading to the bus! Our oldest starts K this August and I already know I'm going to be a bawling mess... unless I get it all out the morning before when our baby starts pre-school. Enjoy your summer with your ladies!

    1. I love these pictures...it made me tear up! I know that it won't be long before I'm sending my boys off to kindergarten too. Brittney is such a fun, sweet, and creative kid! Thanks for sharing her with us :) By the way, I can't believe how well she is reading! She might as well skip first grade!
