Apple Crisp Pizza...


Apple Crisp Pizza


Crust: Pioneer Woman's Perfect Pie Crust

3 C All Purpose Flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 C vegetable shortening
1 egg
5 tbsp cold water
1 tbsp distilled white vinegar

1.Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl.
2.Add the shortening.  Using a pastry cutter, work the shortening into the flour until it makes tiny pebbles.
3.Lightly beat the egg then add it to the mixture.
4.Add the cold water and vinegar.
5.Stir the mixture together until just combined, then remove half the dough from the bowl.
6.Freeze the other half.

Pizza:
2/3 C sugar
3 tbsp all purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
4 medium baking apples, peeled and sliced

Topping:
1/2 C all purpose flour
1/3 C packed brown sugar
1/3 C rolled oats
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 C butter, softened
1/4 to 1/2 C caramel ice cream topping

1.Roll pastry to fit 12 inch pizza pan.
2.Combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl.
3. Add apples and toss.
4. Arrange the apples in a circular pattern to completely cover pastry.
5. Combine the first five topping ingredients;sprinkle over apples.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until apples are tender.
7. Remove from oven and immediately drizzle with caramel topping.

Delicious with ice cream.
