Birdhouses...

Meg is a lot craftier than I am. I mean A LOT more! When her kids are home for the summer, she plans a craft activity for them every week. She has done some really neat projects, but her kids are a little older than ours. Her youngest is five. So, the majority of the crafts she does isn't really something my girls (and I) would be able to accomplish. But, one day she had them paint bird houses and I thought, "I can do that." So, I made Brad suffer through his first ever trip to Hobby Lobby and got them their very own birdhouses to paint.

We stripped Mel down to her diaper and gave her her very own set of paints because we knew she would "double dip" and B would get a bit hyper about that. She insisted on only painting the top and got upset when we tried to tell her to spread the wealth to other parts of the bird house, but she wasn't having it. It was her project so we let her do what she wanted..
B was very precise about what she wanted hers to look like. She wanted it to be a rainbow birdhouse...

Mel got tired of painting the house, so she moved on to the paper...

And now she is back to the top...only the top....

She decided after ten minutes she needed a popsicle break...

So Daddy took over...

B thought the inside needed to be painted also....
You know, birds care what the inside of their house looks like....

I told B she should put a "B" on her house. She said, "Okay Mommy."
Then proceeded to put one on EVERY side of her house. Every one should know who this house belongs to...

Oh look...Mel moved onto another part of her house...

When B finished her house, she decided to paint a rainbow on the paper. I think she made a pretty good one!...

B's...

Mel's (&Daddy's)...
