A Visit to the Dairy...

The girls and I went to visit my grandparent's dairy a couple weeks ago. I grew up on this farm. The creek that I posted pictures of a couple days ago, runs in between my grandparent's house and my parent's house. It is a short 5 minute drive from our home, so we visit often. The girls are dressed up but are sporting their rubber boots. We were on our way home from a bridal shower and I wanted to take some pictures of the creek. Don't worry, they didn't wear their boots to the shower. Although, they probably would not have argued if I would have let them.
Mel tried to feed the calves straw like she does the goats. The calves didn't seem too interested.

After spending some time with the calves, Mel moved on to bigger things....

After a quick look...

She was behind the gate...

Then making friends....

She was not scared of the cows at all...

Of course, we didn't let her wander too far by herself...

B would rather play with the kittens and talk to Papaw Dave...

B was trying to get Mel interested in the kitten, but she wasn't very successful. Maybe they were too little.

"Look at all these rocks."

I have yet to meet a kid who doesn't love to throw rocks into the water...

After one last throw, it was time to go. I was hot!!! My poor dad...I think he would have sat on that rock pile all day in the heat with the girls if they would have asked. Lucky for him...they didn't ask!:)

Of course the girls didn't want to leave, but I assured them we would be back. And we have been...about five times!
