Craft Time: Valentine Heart Wreath...

I've never been a big fan of Valentine's Day.  It's one day a year where we are supposed to express our love to our husbands, fiancees, kids, etc.  Shouldn't we do that every day?  Why do we need a "holiday" to remind us?  So, I've never really been one to decorate for Valentine's Day, but this year I'm kind of enjoying it.  This has been such a looong cold, snowy, dreary winter so I thought some splashes of pink and red would brighten our spirits a bit.  Well, it did and I love how these look hanging in our living room!

You will need:
Scrapbook paper
ribbon
hot glue

Begin by cutting your scrapbook paper into one inch strips.  I used 12x12, but you can use whatever size you please.

Next, fold each strip of paper in half and add a dot of glue just above the crease. This will be the bottom of the heart.

Now, put another dot of glue on one of the ends and bring both ends together to make the top of the heart. Repeat this process six times.  As I completed each heart, I went ahead and placed them in a circle to make sure everything lined up.

For the two hearts that hold the ribbon, sandwich the ribbon between the curves on a heart on each side of the wreath.( See pictures below.)

I used about 8 hearts for my wreaths.  Once you have finished making all the hearts, glue them together by adding a dot of hot glue to each heart and connecting them.  Allow them to dry and then hang them.
