Goats on the Loose...

Yesterday was a rather eventful day. First, I locked my keys in the car. Fortunately, this time, the girls were not in it. It is pretty bad when I have the local towing company's phone number memorized. My dad says I have them on speed dial. I don't, but maybe I should add them! Then one of the goats, "George"( they were named after the Curious George TV shows) jumped out of the pen.
I like our goats because they have ALWAYS stayed in their pen. They don't jump out and nibble on my flowers like other goats. We got them when they were babies, so I think that is why. They just never learned to jump out! Anywho, Brad came and helped me get him back in. He was in the fields so he wasn't very chipper about the whole thing.
In this photo, "Man with the Yellow Hat"(Again, named after Curious George) is the good goat. But last night, they both got out...and I saw them do it this time. They jump on top of the water tank and then jump over the fence. So, Brad put a panel over the water tank so they wouldn't be able to jump on it.

The girls thought it was pretty funny...

If they would stick to only eating weeds, I wouldn't mind if they roamed...but I like my flowers!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Hush Little Baby...

Yesterday I subbed at Preschool, so I had to wake Mel up earlier than usual...She normally sleeps until about 9:30! When I went in to wake her she was still out like a light, so I had to snap a few pix. Who can resist a sleeping baby???...

Fun with cross screens...

Savannah Day 4...

Our last day in Savannah and B finally got her wish to go swimming. The water was very cold.
Whoa!!! That whale has Mel's legs!!

Oh what a relief...it's just Mel!

Tom, Aunt Carole, and Colleen...

Look Miss Jenna...B remembers how to doggie paddle!:)

We had lunch at "One-eyed Lizzie's" downtown...

Tom's only request during the trip was to get oysters....

Here he demonstrates the proper oyster-eating technique...

I opted for the fried oyster salad. I prefer my food cooked!

After lunch we visited the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist. The Cathedral was built in 1873, but a fire destroyed it in 1898. The Cathedral was rebuilt 1912.

Mel walking into the Cathedral...

It was GORGEOUS! Next time I am in Savannah...if that ever happens...I would love to go to mass at this church!

The girls were right at home...or I mean church...Mel immediately opened a book like always during church.

The baptismal font weighs 8,000 lbs. It is marble and was carved in Carrara, Italy and shipped to the port of Savannah...

Stations of the Cross...

Holy Oils Ambry...

The pipe organ was built in Georgetown, Massachusetts. It was installed in 1987. It has 34 ranks and 2,308 pipes...

After the Cathedral we went to one of the nearby "squares"...

The girls made one last wish before heading to the airport...
